Today is day 4 of Puppy Road Trip 2014. We started by feeding and exercising the puppies. Then I kept having this old movie on my mind, as I thought about crossing the desert to California. In this short movie, called “The Pump,” the man’s car breaks down in the desert. He struggles and finally he finds an old hand pump and…I won’t ruin the rest of the movie for you. But it made me go a little crazy gathering water and buying more puppy food…I don’t want the puppies searching for water in a desert…
We started down the road and soon came to Arizona. We were only in Arizona for 27 miles, so we took the puppies out and let them put their four paws on the Arizona soil.
It was fun traveling cross country. The landscape was continually changing. Love this cactus!
In Nevada we found an unused road and let the puppies out. This time with no ex-pens as there wasn’t too much to distract them to stray….or so we thought. We heard this strange bawling sound, and found a new friend! Isn’t he cute? The puppies wanted to go meet him up close…but we said…no.
The pups have adjusted so well to everything! They are happy to get out of the crate and follow us. They are also happy to follow us back to the car and to get back in the crate.
The puppies enjoyed another sunny picnic.
Today we have been in Utah, Arizona, Nevada and have ended the day in Fresno, California. We are all checked into the motel now. We have set the ex-pen up to contain the puppies on the tile of our pet friendly motel. These little puppies had never seen their own reflection! They all were so impressed with the good looking puppies they saw!
We will settle down for the night.
