Eyes!

Elsha’s puppies are 3 weeks old now, and we have finally gotten a peek at their peepers!

Australian Labradoodle Puppies

Did you know….

Puppies open their eyes between 2 and 3 weeks. They each open them on their own schedule. With Elsha’s litter, we have puppies with their eyes wide open while some of their siblings are just starting to gaze on the world!

This period is part of what is called the Transitional Period for puppy development. Between 2 and 4 weeks the puppies will go through a huge burst of physical development:

  • their eyes open
  • they stand and walk
  • the sense of smell and hearing develops
  • tails start to wag
  • teeth start coming in
  • some even start to try their hand at barking!

By 4 weeks old, the puppies should be able to see quite well and we’ll start to see them exploring their surroundings.

Stay tuned for what’s next as we watch Elsha’s puppies grow!
